A platform to grow the market
For EVBox to grow, we need to have great partners to help the entire eMobility ecosystem move forward. Our success is all tied together, for example, if carmakers push more electric cars then this automatically effects the demand for our charging stations. Governments and companies making more charging point stations available makes it more attractive for people to purchase an EV.
In the first half of 2016, we participated in several tradeshows and seminars on mobility. We felt that these events were very traditional and followed formats set by a transportation industry designed around the internal combustion engine; they did not match the ambition, needs, and fast growth pace of electric mobility.
Hence, we believed that there was a gap that EVBox should fill to bring together all the different stakeholders that make up the eMobility industry (OEMs, manufacturing, energy suppliers, government). We also wanted to create a ‘platform’ for like-minded people in the industry to become inspired and discover how best to work together and forge new relationships. rEVolution was born.
rEVolution is the annual eMobility conference that brings together industry professionals, thought leaders, and senior mobility experts to discuss, brainstorm, and debate on the future of (e)Mobility. True to our objective, rEVolution is an ‘empowering’ platform where everyone in our industry is welcome, feels comfortable to share their thoughts, works on developing and activating ideas and has fun.
We want everyone to feel welcome (as changing the future of mobility requires creating a powerful movement): we also invite competitors to attend (and they do). Our courage is rewarded as this event — with EVBox at its centre — is growing every year.
rEVolution as a magnet for EVBox
As we so freely share our knowledge and expertise at rEVolution, we’ve seen an increase in companies and governments opting for EVBox charging stations and software services. Not only because of the quality of our products and services, but also due to our knowledge, mentality, and ambitions.
We see a growing feeling of pride amongst people working in our industry. After rEVolution, lots of people have written blogs, shared videos, and posted pictures of new-found partners. We even saw dozens of images on social media with our rEVolution socks featuring the #EVproud tag.
This has helped and will continue to help us attract the best talent to come work with us; by joining EVBox, they know they will not only be part of a growing company, but also one with a positive impact on both society and the climate. Our advice to others for being a magnet in your industry and pulling talent, customers, partners, and your relevant stakeholders towards you is to be genuine, ambitious, and committed. Creating this annual event can only happen when it comes from a strong belief, which is carried by your entire company. It means investing, taking chances, and showing vision. We aim to surprise by not only inviting the ‘usual suspects’, but also bringing in new speakers that can offer fresh perspectives. Attendees are inspired and ready for action. People will only travel thousands of miles to attend an event if it creates value for them!
LISTEN AND CATER TO THE NEEDS
Networking is key and some attendees prefer to do this all day long. We have noticed that — even though most people want to follow the programme — ample participants are at rEVolution purely for networking and meeting new people. We now also offer good spots for networking, without being ‘disturbed’ by the keynotes or workshop traffic and enthusiasm.
WALK THE TALK IN EVERY DETAIL
We are sustainable in every aspect of (preparing) the event and offer food options for vegetarians/ vegans.
MAKE IT FUN
Even if the keynotes are top notch and the workshops rewarding, having a good time is just as important.
